Fun and Fantasy Hats

Sometimes, hats need to be made just for the fun of having hats.  This can be anything from a purely fantastical hat, to just a hat that fits no other category.

The most unusual hat I ever created came from a discussion had on line about the behavior of certain people which spawned the term asshat.  I took it as a challenge to someday make  one, and a friend in the UK, who was getting married, decided that she absolutely NEEDED a bridal asshat.  And while she did not wear it during the actual ceremony, she wore it at the reception to great acclaim.

This hat is notable as well as my first – and successful- attempt at steaming and forming wool felt.

Without further ado, here it is – the asshat.
